Originally photographed in Sunderland, England, between 2005 and 2007. A selection from the series was published in B&W Magazine's Portfolio Contest Selection (Issue 71, 2009).

Walls, fences and edges define space through separation, control and containment. Through subtle shifts in material, light and use, the photographs examine how boundaries shape spatial experience and reveal underlying tensions within the urban landscape.
